Enterprise asset management: depreciation, multi-location stock, and remote IT support in one platform
April 2026 · 8 min read · By Tamba Solutions
Spreadsheets break the moment assets move between branches, a laptop needs remote troubleshooting, or finance asks for depreciation values for the balance sheet. GoForAssets (Go For Assets), from Tamba Solutions, is a web-based platform for IT and non-IT inventory—requests, approvals, stock, helpdesk, audit trails, and integrated Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) for employee PCs and laptops.
One register for assets that move with your business
GoForAssets centralizes laptops, peripherals, tools, and consumables across branches, business units, departments, and vendors. Administrators configure policy; managers approve; operations fulfill; employees request and track what they use—replacing shared Excel files with a single source of truth.
Typical capabilities include:
- Role-based access — Admin, Manager, Operations, Helpdesk, and Employee personas with tailored dashboards.
- Multi-step requests and approvals aligned to categories, types, purposes, and manufacturers.
- Issue, return, and transfer with full history—who holds which asset, across locations.
- Consumable and non-consumable stock, including expiry and damaged or lost states.
- Configurable email templates, scheduled stock reports, and helpdesk tickets.
- Audit logging so every change is traceable for compliance reviews.
Multi-location operations without blind spots
Distributed teams struggle when each site maintains its own sheet. GoForAssets models companies, branches, and organizational units in one system so you can see stock levels per location, transfer assets between sites, and reorder before a branch runs out of critical items.
Customer teams report that multi-location visibility was the turning point—one healthcare IT engineer noted it was previously “very difficult to manage multiple locations assets on time” until stock and approvals lived in one online platform (see stories on goforassets.com).
Depreciation and balance-sheet alignment
Finance and IT often disagree because they use different registers. GoForAssets treats each asset as a governed record with acquisition context, lifecycle status, and depreciation calculations that support book values used in fixed-asset and balance-sheet reporting.
Operations teams still run day-to-day issuance and returns; finance gets numbers they can trust for period close—not a manual export from a spreadsheet maintained by one engineer.
Note: Depreciation methods and statutory rules should be validated with your finance team and auditors for your jurisdiction; GoForAssets is designed to carry asset financial attributes alongside operational data.
Built-in RMM: connect assets to the laptops you support
Knowing what you own is only half the job. When an employee in another city cannot log in, IT needs to see device health and assist remotely—without bolting on a separate RMM product.
GoForAssets includes an in-house RMM layer tied to the asset register and helpdesk:
- A Windows agent (service + MSI installer) enrolls against each asset and syncs hostname, OS, serial, CPU, RAM, and disk inventory.
- Online/offline status on assets and support tickets—see stale endpoints that have not checked in.
- Approval-only remote sessions — helpdesk opens a ticket, the end user sees a tray dialog with technician name and company, and only then grants access.
- Browser-based remote view/control with a full session audit trail on the ticket—no silent unattended access in the current design.
- Windows Update scan and install from the helpdesk panel—reduce travel and keep endpoints patched.
- Outbound-only WebSocket connections—friendly to standard corporate firewalls.
This closes the gap between the asset list and the ability to configure and support user PCs when tickets arrive—especially valuable for enterprises with hybrid and multi-branch staff.
Typical flow from request to fulfilled asset
- Employee signs in and raises an asset or consumable request.
- Manager approves per policy.
- Operations issues stock and updates the register.
- Dashboards, email, and reports keep everyone aligned.
- If support is needed later, helpdesk uses the same asset record—with RMM when enrolled.
How GoForAssets fits the Tambasol suite
GoForHR holds people context. Tofuflow runs commercial inventory and transactions you sell. GoForAssets focuses on operational and IT fleet assets assigned to employees—not warehouse sellable stock. Tamba Solutions can integrate with procurement, finance, or MDM where you need a unified view.
